The BikeTrip application offers a comprehensive suite of features tailored specifically for motorcyclists, providing detailed analytics to enhance riding experience and safety. Key features include the display of real-time lean angle derived from GPS data, and tracking of the maximum lean angle during recent turns. The app also integrates a variometer akin to those used in aviation instruments, alongside lateral acceleration measurements suitable for automotive applications.

An integrated bend counter, altimeter, and slope gradient indicator (available on iPhone 6 and newer) furnish riders with vital terrain information. The app displays various metrics such as travel direction, current speed, distance traveled, total ascent, maximum speed, maximum lean angle, and altitude. Users can export trip tracks as HTML files for instant viewing in any web browser. Additionally, positions can be saved as waypoints effortlessly—simply covering the proximity sensor temporarily triggers the save function.

Waypoints are systematically archived and can be transferred via SMS. A detailed list of turns, including data on lean angles and speeds, is available for review. The app supports visualizing the entire route on a map and allows display in both portrait and landscape orientations. During a trip, users can view local lean angles and speed directly on the map interface.

Trip segments can be marked to analyze their length and average speed. Any point within a trip can be converted into a waypoint, with coordinates easily extractable for use in other applications. Waypoints are transferable between users via SMS and can be imported into BikeTrip seamlessly.

All data calculations rely on GPS signals; the lean angle measurement maintains accuracy at speeds above 15 mph. The application supports background recording, enabling continuous data logging alongside other navigation or related apps.
